The best thing about St John is that nearly 3/4 of our island is National Park. Visit the VI National Park Visitors’ Center across from Mongoose Junction for information about guided tours, hiking, and the history of the National Park itself. Our park truly is a national treasure.
St. John has wonderful eclectic shops and jewelry stores, just steps away from Lavender Hill Suites, starting in Cruz Bay along Wharfside Village all the way over to Mongoose Junction. For more serious “Retail Therapy,” we recommend a day trip to Charlotte Amalie on St Thomas to spend the day at the largest duty free shopping port in the world.
You may want to take to the seas and visit the British Virgin Islands for the day during your stay including Virgin Gorda, Tortola, or the popular Jost Van Dyke. You might consider a private charter or the public ferries. Your options are endless. (When planning a trip to the BVI, make sure you bring your passport OR your birth certificate and a picture ID).
Obviously you are coming to St John to spend time in the Caribbean waters that surround our island. After spending your days relaxing on one of our beautiful beaches, you might want to try kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, a boat excursion, or a sunset sail.
For the Foodie in us all St. John can satisfy anyone’s taste. Experience the excellent culinary offerings, from road side food trucks, casual hole-in-the-wall restaurants, to high-end alfresco dining with spectacular views of the Caribbean.
There is nothing like a destination wedding and what better, than a destination wedding on St John. Choose from one of our beautiful beaches or perhaps one of the sugar mill ruins as an extraordinary location for a intimate ceremony. Have your reception at one of our top restaurants, and check out “St John’s Barefoot Minister” for your wedding officiate.
